Pearsall writhed against his bonds, his eyes wild.
“Hush now,” she chastised him. “All good things to those who wait!”
Clarice stroked the cold metal of the harpy, a surprise gift from her lover, who now smiled at her with obvious pleasure. Delighting in the dull glint and the sharpness of the blade, she drew her own blood accidentally.
Lecter pulled her hand to his lips and kissed the wound clean.
“Is there anything else you need my dear?”
“Just my harpy, and a little privacy?”
He kissed her in parting, and she tasted her own blood on his lips.
