site. He does not use aubergines in his cooking. He finds their color unappetizing. In point of fact, he prefers to avoid the color purple altogether. It carries unpleasant memories for him - memories best not revisited, memories of Mischa... and of the soldiers. But tonight he is not cooking for himself. His favorite restaurant has a new chef - a chef without the culinary flair of his predecessor, a chef with a fondness for aubergines. A disappointing meal further spoiled. This simply won’t do.
