A script was completed for 'Hannibal and Clarice,' the sequel to 'Hannibal,' that brought the movie series back into agreement with the novels. Lecter experts had been consulted to assure that the spirit of the novels was maintained. The SOTL Dream Team had been reassembled, with one still to be heard from. Then the eagerly awaited call was coming through on the speaker phone. The hushed assemblage listened to Jodie’s voice: “I’m sorry guys, but I’ve played Clarice for the last time.”
