A Fresh Pair of Eyes

Gil felt eyes on him and looked up from the shoes he was examining, but Jim was intently studying the case file. He shook his head. Maybe he was imagining it.
He rolled his sleeves up further and returned to the evidence laid out in front of him. A few moments later he felt the prickle of someone watching again, and looked up just in time to see that Jim's gaze was glued to Gil's wrists. The ligature marks were barely noticeable under his latex gloves; only someone trained to observe would have noticed them. He smiled faintly.
Gil drifted slowly awake. He opened his eyes and looked blurrily around Heather's room. Only when he tried to rub his eyes did he realize that he couldn't move his hands from above his head. He shook them and heard a rattling noise. Still fuzzy from sleep, it took a moment for it to sink in that he was handcuffed to the bed. He shook his hands again and was rewarded with the click of Heather's heels coming towards him.
He inhaled sharply as she entered the room, provocatively dressed in an emerald corset and black leather pants.
She climbed on the bed and straddled him. She waved his cell phone in front of his face before tossing it on the floor. "Your phone rang this morning." He opened his mouth to protest, but closed it sharply when he saw the look of determination on her face and felt her take firm hold of his nipples.
"This week is about you and me. No work, no cell phones, no clients, no bugs." She punctuated each no with a quick tug. She leaned down and whispered into his ear, "Understood?"
He twisted his head to the side and captured her mouth with his. He kissed her passionately, letting that show his acceptance. He groaned in frustration when she pulled away. "Are you going to take the cuffs off me now?"
Heather grinned wickedly and dragged her nails down his chest. "No."
Gil blinked and pushed down the beginnings of arousal and schooled his features as he looked up at Jim again. Had to keep it all business at work.
Gil blinked. He'd expected concern, maybe a lecture. He knew Jim's opinion of Lady Heather. He'd even gone so far as to tell Gil to buy a sports car instead.
"You could say that."
Jim nodded and dropped his gaze back to the file. "You might want to keep your sleeves rolled down for a few days."
Gil eased his sleeves back down and waited.
"Do you think Nick'll find anything Sara didn't?"
Gil picked up the Luminol and sprayed the shoes. "A fresh pair of eyes never hurts," he said, as long as they keep them on the business at hand.
